Duties

• Safely operate specialized vehicles designed for transporting patients on stretchers or wheelchairs, ensuring smooth and secure transit.
• Assist patients in boarding, disembarking, and comfortably securing themselves during transport, demonstrating compassion and professionalism at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met and vehicle longevity is preserved.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare facilities, and patients to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedules efficiently.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to guarantee a secure environment for passengers and drivers alike.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before each journey.
• Document trip details accurately, including mileage, passenger information, and any incidents or concerns encountered during transport.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine service is highly valued.
• Proven experience in commercial driving or as a transportation driver for paratransit or school bus services.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting patients onto stretchers or wheelchairs safely.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, dispatchers, and team members.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics to identify potential issues early and ensure vehicle safety.
• Prior experience with customer service roles that require patience, empathy, and professionalism.
• Safely transport patients using stretcher/gurney equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards
• Properly load, secure, and unload patients using approved lifting and securement techniques
• Work as part of a two-person stretcher crew when required
• Follow HIPAA privacy requirements and maintain patient confidentiality
• Familiarity with driving regulations related to commercial vehicles and adherence to safety standards at all times. Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
