The role ensures that all structural designs are accurately modeled, clash-free, and coordinated with other disciplines (MEP, architecture, etc.) to support construction planning, execution, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage structural BIM models for high-rise building projects using software such as Revit, Tekla Structures, or Navisworks.
  • Ensure accurate modeling of structural elements including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, shear walls, and core walls.
  • Coordinate BIM models with MEP, architectural, and other engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and conflicts.
  • Perform clash detection and produce clash reports using tools like Navisworks or Solibri.
  • Assist in preparing structural shop drawings and construction documentation from BIM models.
  • Collaborate with the design and site teams to ensure that the BIM models reflect actual site conditions.
  • Support quantity take-offs (QTOs) and material estimation using BIM data.
  • Maintain BIM standards and ensure compliance with company BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and ISO standards.
  • Implement model updates and revisions as per design changes, RFIs, and site feedback.
  • Coordinate with the project team for 4D scheduling and 5D cost planning using BIM.
  • Provide technical support for BIM implementation and resolve modeling issues.
  • Conduct model reviews and ensure quality and accuracy of structural information.
  • Maintain organized libraries of BIM objects, templates, and families for structural works.
  • Assist in clash resolution meetings and prepare coordination reports.
  • Ensure proper version control and documentation of BIM files.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, contractors, and clients to share BIM deliverables.
  • Support the site team during installation and construction using the BIM model for guidance.
  • Keep updated with the latest BIM technologies, software updates, and best practices.
  • Participate in design review meetings to provide BIM-related feedback.
  • Promote BIM culture and support training of junior staff on BIM standards and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in BIM modeling for structural works of high-rise buildings.
  • Proficient in Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Experience in clash detection, coordination, and 4D/5D BIM processes.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Competencies:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in modeling.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring ability for junior BIM engineers.
  • Commitment to deadlines and project quality standards.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced construction project environments.
