Structural Bridges/ Tunnels SME

Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical authority for all bridge and tunnel structural works on the project
• Review and approve design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with international standards, local codes, and client requirements
• Provide expert input on complex structural systems, including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, and interchanges
• Support the PMC team during construction, design changes, and technical issue resolution
• Review and respond to technical queries (TQs), RFIs, and NCRs related to structural works
• Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments
• Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, utilities, and construction teams to ensure interface alignment
• Attend and contribute to technical workshops, coordination meetings, and design reviews
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved designs and method statements
• Provide guidance on temporary works, staging, and traffic management impacts related to structures
• Support tender evaluations from a technical and constructability perspective
• Assist in resolving claims and disputes related to structural design or construction issues
• Review inspection, testing, and quality control procedures for bridges and tunnels
• Support project close-out activities, including as-built reviews and handover documentation
• Mentor and advise junior structural engineers within the PMC team

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with strong expertise in bridges and tunnel projects
• Proven experience working within a PMC or consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of international design codes (AASHTO, Eurocodes, BS, etc.)
• Experience with major infrastructure and road projects in the GCC or Saudi Arabia preferred
• Excellent technical judgment, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
