Structural Design Engineer – Job Description

A Structural Design Engineer is responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural systems to ensure safety, stability, and durability of buildings and infrastructure projects. The role involves applying engineering principles, industry standards, and design software to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and other materials
• Prepare calculations for loads, stresses, and structural integrity (dead, live, wind, seismic)
• Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocode)
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and construction teams
• Review shop drawings and provide technical support during construction
• Conduct site visits to verify structural implementation and resolve issues
• Optimize designs for safety, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Proven experience in structural design (typically 2–5+ years depending on level)
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
• Familiarity with international codes and standards

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in structural design software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro)
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of finite element analysis

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
