Structural Design Manager

Occupation Description

The “Structural Design Manager” leads and oversees the structural engineering design aspects of our real estate development projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all structural systems are efficient, cost-effective, compliant with regulations & codes, and seamlessly integrated with architectural and MEP components. This position is crucial to delivering high quality, safe, and economically viable residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.


Job Scope

  • Lead and manage all structural design activities across multiple projects from concept through construction.
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure design coordination and project alignment.
  • Review and approve structural engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and calculations prepared by internal teams or external consultants.
  • Prepare the Structural RFP to appoint the main/structural consultant.
  • Evaluate and select structural systems that balance performance, constructability, and cost.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Conduct structural value engineering assessments to optimize design.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with permitting authorities and participate in regulatory reviews when necessary.
  • Manage and maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliverables related to structural design.
  • Lead structural design quality assurance and risk management efforts.


Education and Most Common Work Experience Requested

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in related fields would be desirable.
  • 10+ years of related experience in structural design and management, preferably within real estate development or construction.
  • Proven experience managing structural design for large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems (concrete, steel, stone, post-tensioned, etc.) and construction techniques.
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD Pro).
  • Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Revit) and project collaboration platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
