Structural Draftsman

Structural Draftsman Responsibilities & Duties

• Prepare detailed drawings of structural components and systems
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to refine design concepts
• Ensure all drawings comply with building codes and regulations
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project managers
• Create 3D models of structures using CAD software
• Calculate dimensions, weights, and stresses of various materials
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials and construction methods
• Perform site visits to gather data and verify measurements
• Update project documentation as changes is made
• Provide assistance in the preparation of project estimates and schedules
• Ensure proper document management and filing of all blueprints and plans
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to clarify design details

Structural Draftsman Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
• Certification in CAD software
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology
• Familiarity with construction management software
• Previous experience in a structural drafting role
