Job Summary

The Structural Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate structural shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for reinforced concrete and steel structures. The role supports the site engineering team to ensure drawings comply with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, and Dubai authority requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Drawings

• Prepare detailed structural shop drawings for RC works (foundations, piles, pile caps, columns, beams, slabs, walls).
• Prepare steel structure drawings including connections and details where applicable.
• Develop and update as-built drawings based on site conditions and approved changes.
• Revise drawings in accordance with consultant comments, RFIs, and site instructions.
• Ensure drawings match approved IFC and structural design requirements.

Site Coordination

• Coordinate with structural engineers, site engineers, and BIM teams.
• Assist in resolving drawing discrepancies, clashes, and constructability issues.
• Provide drawings required for method statements and construction activities.
• Support quantity take-offs when required.

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure drawings comply with Dubai Municipality and relevant authority standards.
• Follow project CAD standards, layer control, and revision procedures.
• Maintain drawing registers and proper document control.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or certification in Structural / Civil Drafting.
• Minimum 5–8 years’ experience as a Structural Draftsman in the UAE.
• Strong experience in high-rise building construction preferred.
• Proven site-based experience in Dubai construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of Revit / BIM is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of RC detailing and steel detailing.
• Ability to read and interpret structural design and IFC drawings.

Soft Skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication with engineers and site teams.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.
