Role Overview:
The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of buildings, infrastructure and other projects to ensure they are structurally sound and safe. He works closely with architects, contractors, and other Engineers to develop plans and specifications, conduct feasibility studies, perform structural calculations, and assess materials. They also inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Additionally, they may provide solutions for any structural issues during the construction or renovation process.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:

Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather information about the terrain, soil conditions, and environmental factors.

Analyze the data to inform the design and address potential challenges during construction.

Perform calculations to determine the structural integrity of designs, ensuring that materials and components will perform as expected under various load conditions.

Ensure that all designs comply with local, regional, and national building codes and safety standards.

Identify potential risks (e.g., environmental impact, soil stability, or design flaws) and propose mitigations.

Create detailed designs for infrastructure projects like High rise buildings, steel structures/ PEB sheds.

Successfully deliver large-scale projects while working within an established program management plan; provide required outcomes by coordinating activities of contractors & acting as a primary point of contact; responsible for overall project functions included but not limited to Engineering Management, Procurement, Construction / Site Management, Project Control Management etc.

Provide the technical input, formulate, review, address & provide design inputs related to civil & structural packages of the project(s), during project development, construction & all phases of commissioning; detailed designs, technical bid reviews etc.; Provide routine civil, structural (design and construction) support to facilities, as & when required.

Contribute to stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs & concerns & reacting to these by arranging meetings & drafting supporting materials to promote understanding & commitment.

Explain the action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done & how this relates to the broader business plan & the organization's strategy, mission and vision, guide & mentor junior engineers and supervisory staff.

Responsible for own & safety of others at all times, by fully adhering to, following & maintaining all applicable Company & statutory HSE rules, regulations & standards; participate as needed in safety audits and incident investigations; participate in & lead risk assessments, while actively managing the risks of project(s).

Understand the IMS System & ISO Standards & how it impacts job functions & what requirements are needed to conform to these systems.
Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree in Structure Engineering from UET/ NUST/ NED and possess at least 10 – 12 years’ experience in Engineering Design of Shallow & Deep Foundation, High Rise Buildings, Steel Structures, PEB Sheds & other structural members

Must have designed and executed a minimum of 05 Mid to High Rise Building projects & 05 Steel Structures projects independently & should have rich knowledge of Concrete Technology/ RCC

Strong knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AISC, Building Codes & other Civil Engineering Standards.

Strong knowledge of software such as SAP2000, Safe, ANSYS, Tekla, Etabs, StaadPro, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other civil engineering software's.

Proficiency in analyzing forces, stresses, and strains on structures, and designing solutions using materials like concrete and steel.

Robust understanding of international procedures of Projects Phases, Engineering Phases, Bidding procedures, Procurement Processes, Construction Requirements and up to date Best Practices.

Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.

Should have strong drafting & written communication skills, Fluent in English language.

Must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council as Professional Engineer “Structures”
