Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Execution:
- Supervise and manage all structural construction activities on-site, including foundation work, concrete pouring, reinforcement fixing, formwork erection, and steel structure installation.
- Ensure strict adherence to approved detailed structural drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Conduct frequent and meticulous site inspections (pre-pour, during-pour, post-pour) to monitor workmanship and quality control checks.
- Inspect and verify the accuracy of shuttering, scaffolding, and rebar fixing (BBS compliance) before any concrete placement.
Technical & Quality Control (QA/QC):
- Review and approve material submittals, ensuring all structural materials (e.g., concrete mix designs, steel reinforcement, couplers) meet project specifications and relevant local/international standards (ACI, Eurocodes, BS).
- Coordinate and oversee all structural testing, including cube testing, pile load testing, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
- Review and verify contractor/sub-contractor shop drawings and construction methods for compliance with the original design intent and site conditions.
Coordination & Compliance:
- Liaise closely with the design consultancy team, architects, MEP, and other discipline engineers to resolve technical and site coordination issues proactively, particularly concerning structural interfaces.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the site team, providing immediate solutions for unforeseen structural challenges or modifications that arise during construction.
- Manage all structural inspections and approvals required by local authorities (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DDA, or other relevant bodies) and ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
Safety & Reporting:
- Ensure all structural work is carried out in strict compliance with UNEC’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing site progress, quality deviations, inspection results, and technical issues.
- Assist the Project Planning team by monitoring structural activities against the master construction schedule.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer, with at least 3 years directly involved in site supervision of large-scale commercial, residential, or high-rise building projects in the UAE/GCC region.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles for both reinforced concrete and steel structures.
- Familiarity with international design codes (ACI, BS, Eurocodes) and mandatory UAE building regulations.
- Proficiency in reviewing models and output from structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro).
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, and familiarity with BIM tools like Revit is a plus.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent registration is preferred. Valid UAE Society of Engineers membership or a registered Engineer’s card is a significant advantage.
- Soft Skills: Excellent command of English (written and verbal), strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and proven ability to manage and motivate site teams in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Attributes
- Previous experience working directly for a Tier 1 Main Contractor in the UAE.

- Ability to review and understand geotechnical reports and foundation design constraints.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Accommodation, transportation, and medical insurance as per UAE Labour Law and company policy.
- Opportunity to work on iconic and challenging projects with a leading contractor.
