Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Structural Erector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing steel and metal frameworks and structural components according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards. The role involves working at heights and collaborating with other trades to complete projects on time and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Erect, align, and bolt steel components such as columns, beams, braces, and trusses.
- Use cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to position structural elements.
- Weld or bolt pieces together using proper tools and techniques.
- Inspect structures and materials for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure all work is performed safely in accordance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with crane operators, welders, engineers, and other tradespeople on site.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Assist with material handling and site preparation when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Structural Erector, Ironworker, or similar role.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and structural drawings.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and rigging gear.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in structural steel erection or related field
