Job Title: Structure Chargehand

Job Purpose
The Structure Chargehand supervises and coordinates structural steel fitting, fabrication, and installation activities on-site or in the workshop. The role ensures that work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications, while leading a team of fitters, fabricators, and helpers.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise structural steel works, including fitting, alignment, and installation.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, isometrics, GA drawings, and fabrication plans.
- Distribute daily tasks to fitters, fabricators, riggers, and helpers.
- Ensure proper sequencing of work, material availability, and timely completion.
- Check alignment, leveling, and orientation of structural components (beams, columns, trusses, frames).
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, welders, and riggers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Verify measurements, tolerances, and quality before welding or final installation.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with HSE standards and site safety rules.
- Monitor manpower productivity and report progress to the site supervisor/foreman.
- Identify material shortages, equipment needs, or technical issues and report immediately.
- Maintain work discipline and ensure safe working practices during lifting and erection.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in structural steel works, including at least 2 years as a Chargehand.
- Strong knowledge of structural fitting, fabrication, and erection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Understanding of rigging and lifting safety procedures.
- Basic welding and alignment knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills (English required; Arabic/Hindi/Urdu a plus).
