The Student Analyst/BCBA is responsible for providing behavioral assessment, intervention, and support services to students in an alternative placement setting. This role focuses on students with significant behavioral, social-emotional, and/or academic needs, with the goal of increasing functional skills, reducing challenging behavior, and supporting successful transitions back to less restrictive environments.
The BCBA collaborates closely with educators, paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and partnering school districts to ensure effective, consistent, and ethical implementation of behavior analytic services.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Program Development
Analyze behavioral and academic data to guide treatment decisions
Develop individualized programming targeting communication, social skills, self-regulation, and adaptive behavior
Align behavior programming with IEP goals and Missouri DESE requirements
Student Support
Provide consultative behavioral services to students
Model and support implementation of interventions within the classroom setting
Monitor student progress and adjust programming based on data trends
Support crisis prevention and intervention planning
Staff Training & Supervision
Train teachers and support staff on behavior analytic principles and intervention strategies
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to staff
Conduct competency assessments and ensure fidelity of implementation
Supervise RBTs (if applicable) in accordance with BACB requirements
Collaboration & Consultation
Collaborate with IEP teams, including district representatives and related service providers
Participate in IEP meetings, staffing meetings, and transition planning
Communicate effectively with families and school personnel regarding student progress
Support reintegration planning to less restrictive environments when appropriate
Data Collection & Compliance
Oversee and ensure accurate data collection systems
Review and analyze data regularly to inform decision-making
Maintain timely and accurate documentation (progress notes, reports, IEP input)
Ensure compliance with IDEA, DESE, and ethical guidelines
Crisis & Safety Support
Develop and update crisis/safety plans for students as needed
Provide guidance and training on de-escalation strategies
Participate in crisis response when necessary
Qualifications:
Required
Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
Current certification as a Behavior Analyst Certification Board Certified BCBA
Experience working with students with behavioral and emotional needs
Strong knowledge of ABA principles and behavior intervention strategies
Preferred
Experience in alternative placement or therapeutic school settings
Experience with school-based services and IEP processes
Familiarity with Missouri DESE regulations and compliance requirements
Experience supervising RBTs or behavior technicians

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
