The Biostore seeks a motivated and responsible Student Assistant to support daily operations. This position at Haworth Hall, provides customer service to faculty, staff, and students; assists with inventory tasks; and helps maintain an organized, efficient workspace. The Student Assistant will work in a fast‑paced environment and is expected to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism. This role does not require a science‑related major students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
60% - Inventory Stocking & Storeroom Maintenance-
Restock inventory, organize supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly storeroom to support efficient daily operations.

Receive, check in, and document incoming packages. Deliver packages to designated locations on a daily basis.
40% - Customer Service & Point‑of‑Sale Operations-
Greet and assist customers promptly and professionally. Scan or manually enter items, process transactions accurately, and ensure a positive checkout experience.
- Computer knowledge using Microsoft Word and Excel, as indicated in application material.
- Availability during summer and breaks, as indicated in application materials.
- Available to work mornings during the semester, as indicated in application materials.
- Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds.

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.
(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
