Salary and Benefits
This position is in Salary Grade CS1, with a minimum starting salary range of $17.55 per hour. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range.

General Description
The Intake Specialist provides operational support and general office assistance within Student Health and Counseling Services. This role contributes to outreach and promotional initiatives and supports wellness resources such as the campus food pantry by coordinating donations, maintaining organization, and assisting students in accessing services. The Intake Specialist must be able to recognize signs of acute distress or cris and respond with appropriate interventions. Success in this role requires strong independent judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion, tact, and professionalism.
The position follows a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications: Education
A minimum of an associate degree or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human services or related field is preferred.
Qualification:Experience
At least one year of experience in office clerical work or a related field is preferred.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional and empathetic manner. They must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners while maintaining a friendly, personable, and welcoming presence. A high level of cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse student populations is essential. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing weekly and monthly tasks in a timely manner. Strong networking skills and the ability to build positive relationships on and off campus are required, as is familiarity with local community resources and referral processes. The position also requires the ability to collect and manage basic data, research, and learn new information, and apply knowledge effectively in support of student success.
