Student - Web Design & Development Intern - Herbert Institute

Position Announcement

The Gary R. Herbert Institute for Public Policy at Utah Valley University is looking for a student with a passion for clean design, intuitive user experiences, and bringing ideas to life on the web. This is a rare opportunity to work on a real, high-profile project — redesigning and redeveloping the Herbert Institute website from the ground up. You’ll be building something meaningful that reaches students, faculty, policymakers, and the public across Utah and beyond.

This is a temporary role that will close after the website is completely overhauled. We would like to have the website complete before the start of Fall semester 2026.

Take this chance to build a lasting legacy at the Herbert Institute as we welcome more of the community to our website.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Redesign the Herbert Institute website to be visually compelling and consistent with both Herbert Institute and UVU branding guidelines.
  • Improve site functionality, navigation, and overall user experience
  • Collaborate closely with the Herbert Institute Marketing & Communications team to align the site with our messaging and goals
  • Audit current site content and structure, then develop and implement improvements
  • Ensure the site is mobile-responsive, accessible, and easy for staff to maintain

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

  • Must be a current UVU Student
  • Currently enrolled in Web Design, Web Development, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field
