Position Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented high school student to assist with ongoing health services research projects. The assistant will support data entry, basic data analysis, and general research tasks under the close supervision of faculty and staff. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to real-world research in a collaborative academic setting, particularly for students with an interest in economics, health policy, or data analysis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and review data in spreadsheets and research databases
  • Conduct basic data quality checks and flag inconsistencies
  • Assist with simple statistical analyses under guidance
  • Support literature reviews and prepare brief summaries of key findings
  • Participate in research team meetings, seminars, or workshops as appropriate
  • Help with general research-related administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other researchers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Familiarity with basic computer applications (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Word).

Introductory knowledge of statistics and/or willingness to learn simple analysis tools.

Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Basic knowledge of research.
