Job Title: Subject Matter Expert – Process Engineering

(Process Optimisation · Steady-State Performance · Heat & Mass Balance)

Location: Abu Dhabi

Employment Type: Full Time

Programme Context

AVEVA delivers Predictive Analytics, Asset Performance Management, and Process Optimisation solutions across Oil & Gas, Energy, and Industrial operators throughout the Middle East region. These digital solutions monitor critical equipment and operational processes in real time, generating predictive alerts and operational advisories designed to prevent unplanned downtime, extend asset life, improve reliability, and optimize operational performance.

This SME role exists to ensure predictive model outputs are technically interpreted, validated, operationalized, and sustained — converting AI-generated insights into measurable operational, reliability, and financial benefits across customer facilities.

The Job

The Process Engineering SME will serve as the technical lead supporting deployment, operational monitoring, sustainment, and continuous value realization of AVEVA Predictive Analytics and Process Optimisation solutions deployed across customer operations in the Middle East region.

The role combines deep process engineering expertise with operational optimization and predictive analytics advisory capabilities to ensure predictive and optimization models deliver measurable improvements in throughput, energy efficiency, process stability, production optimization, and operational performance.

The SME will work closely with customer operations, process engineering, production, control room, reliability, and digital teams throughout the solution lifecycle — from model development and deployment through operational monitoring, optimization, and long-term sustainment.

The role is responsible for translating AI-generated operational advisories and optimization insights into actionable process improvements that maximize production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and improve plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

    • Well decline
    • Feed composition shifts
    • Equipment modifications
    • Operational strategy changes
  • Provide engineering input to support expansion of optimization coverage to additional process units and facilities.

Predictive Monitoring, Sustainment & Value Realization

  • Review and manage daily process optimization advisories and predictive alerts for deployed process systems and assets.
  • Assess feasibility of model-recommended set-point changes against current operational constraints, production targets, and safety requirements.
  • Validate optimization recommendations for:
    • Separators
    • Compressors
    • Heat exchangers
    • Gas processing units
    • Utility systems
