Subsea & Well Control Equipment Engineer

We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and results-oriented team player to join us as Subsea & Well Control Equipment Engineers who are motivated to specialize in Offshore Industry.


  • Support the inspection, maintenance, repair, and recertification of subsea equipment including BOPs, risers, LMRP, valves, and related systems
  • Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot subsea BOP (Blowout Preventer) systems, LMRP, riser systems, and associated well control equipment.
  • Ensure all SPS scope items related to subsea equipment (connectors, accumulators, control pods, riser joints, etc.) are completed by project schedule and OEM guidelines.
  • Contribute to the maintenance planning and scheduling of subsea equipment
  • Third-party inspectors, OEM representatives, and internal project teams
  • Ensure safe and compliant execution of SPS tasks in line with applicable standards and manufacturer requirements
  • Maintain comprehensive project records aligned with performance metrics; assist Project Support Specialists in uploading documentation and certifications into TO-OTC’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Understand and account for how logistics, lifting plans, spares, and consumables related to well control systems integrate into dry dock or in-yard SPS planning.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (IMR) workflows for subsea and well control equipment within the context of the SPS period.
  • Understand the full lifecycle of BOP stack operations—including disassembly, inspection, reassembly, pressure testing, and certification—and how these align with class and flag state requirements during the SPS process.
  • Understand how subsea equipment scope items—such as connectors, accumulators, control pods, and riser joints—are scheduled, executed, and verified in alignment with project timelines and OEM guidelines during SPS.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., API, IMO, DNV, ABS).
  • Understand with dual activity rigs and advanced control systems (NOV, Cameron, GE VetcoGray, etc.).
  • Maintain records of BOP inspections, certifications, and failure reports.
  • Familiarity with dynamic positioning (DP) vessels.
  • Proficient in reading P&IDs, schematics, and OEM manuals.
  • Experience to be gained with subsea robotics (ROVs) for BOP inspections.
  • Knowledge of automated well control systems (e.g., Drillers’ Advisory Systems).
  • Familiarity with Turkish offshore regulations (if operating in Turkish waters).
  • SPS (Special Periodical Survey) planning and execution for offshore drilling assets (likely to include BOP systems, subsea equipment, and well control systems), the Subsea & Well Control Equipment Specialist role should be adjusted to align with SPS-specific requirements.
  • Review previous survey reports, OEM guidelines, and regulatory updates to define inspection criteria.
  • Oversee NDT inspections (MPI, UT, dye penetrant) on BOP rams, connectors, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure spare parts management for SPS (tracking lead times, OEM approvals).
  • Update asset integrity records for next survey cycle.
  • Conduct HAZID/HAZOP reviews for SPS activities involving well control systems.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in the offshore drilling industry or marine operations, preferably involving SPS (Special Periodic Surveys), stacking/reactivation, or shipyard projects.
  • Lifting & rigging awareness, confined space, working at height (as applicable)
  • Familiarity with API RP 53, API 16A/16D, ISO 13628, IADC/IMCA guidelines and other relevant standards.
  • Valid Offshore Fitness for Work certificate, and BOSIET and HUET certifications
  • Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Strong willingness to work in offshore environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams and in dynamic field environments (offshore rigs or shipyards).
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Residing in or willing to relocate to Zonguldak/Çaycuma
  • Turkish Citizenship
