Substance Abuse Nurse Practitioner

Overview:

We believe that the first step of recovery—detoxification—is the foundation for a lifetime of freedom, and we are committed to making that process as safe, comfortable, and supportive as possible.As a Nurse Practitioner on our team, you will be a cornerstone of our 24/7 medical supervision model. You will work closely with our licensed physicians and clinical staff to provide individualized, high-quality care to patients during the most critical early stages of their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive medical assessments and physicals for new admissions to determine appropriate detoxification and anti-craving protocols.
  • Medical Supervision: Provide 24/7 medical oversight (in collaboration with the physician) to manage withdrawal symptoms and ensure patient safety throughout the detox process.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement customized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique goals and diagnoses.
  • Collaboration: Act as a key member of the integrated care team, participating in weekly treatment meetings and collaborating with outside hospitals or clinics when necessary.
  • Patient Education: Inform and educate patients and their families on the medical components of addiction and general healthy living practices.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements, as well as Joint Commission (JCAHO) accreditation standards.
  • Emergency Response: Provide consultation and direction to emergency care providers or staff when urgent medical needs arise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (MSN).
  • Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Ohio (FNP, APRN, CNP, or PMHNP).
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience preferred; a minimum of 1 year in an addiction treatment or detox setting is highly preferred.
  • DEA Certification: Valid D.E.A. licensure required for prescribing controlled substances as part of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
