Substation Attendant

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in an electric utility company.
• At least 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in electricity control systems.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and Kahramaa standards & practices.
• Experience in:
• HV / EHV switching operations
• Substation commissioning
• Power system safety procedures
• Testing before, during, and after energizing
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Computer literate with good presentation skills.
• Must pass authorization interview and qualify as Senior Authorized Person.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, reliability, and security of electricity generation and transmission networks using SCADA systems.
• Supervise electricity supply operations from Dispatch Centers.
• Direct switching operations in transmission networks and substations.
• Issue safety documents such as:
• Permit to Work (PTW)
• Sanction for Test (SFT)
• Isolation & Earthing Certificates
• Monitor system voltage and frequency levels.
• Identify and report system faults from NCC/DGCC control room.
• Take corrective actions to restore power during system failures.
• Coordinate with various departments during emergencies.
• Maintain control room records, logs, manuals, and software updates.
• Prepare daily, technical, and statistical reports.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Support ISO quality standards and continuous improvement processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR10,000.00 per month
