Job Purpose
The Substation Electrical Engineer will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and monitoring electrical works related to substations, ensuring that construction activities are executed in compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, method statements, safety standards, and accepted engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Resident Engineer through regular site visits, inspections, and day-to-day supervision of substation electrical works.

Liaise and coordinate with all technical disciplines to ensure smooth execution of project activities.

Attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings to review and discuss Contractor(s) submissions, shop drawings, and construction-related matters.

Review and monitor contractor activities to ensure works are progressing in accordance with Contract Documents, specifications, approved drawings, and industry best practices.

Ensure strict compliance with approved method statements, layouts, and construction drawings.

Witness site activities, inspections, and testing/commissioning works as required by the project.

Identify non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions in coordination with the Resident Engineer.

Assist the Resident Engineer during final inspections for certification of completion and handing over of the works.

Monitor site safety practices and ensure that adequate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) measures are implemented and maintained at all times.
Experience Requirements

Minimum
8 years of relevant experience
in electrical engineering works related to substations, preferably in supervision or consultancy roles.

Proven experience in site supervision, inspections, testing, and coordination with contractors.
Educational Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical Engineering
(mandatory).
Additional Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with prior OETC approval
.

Strong knowledge of substation construction, testing, and commissioning practices.

Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

Familiarity with Oman standards, utility requirements, and international codes is an advantage.
