In this dynamic role, you will step into classrooms to deliver engaging lessons, engage in bible stories, support classroom routines, and foster a positive faith filled environment that promotes growth and curiosity. Whether covering for a teacher or assisting with specialized instruction, your energy and dedication will make a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys. This paid position offers flexible scheduling (as a substitue) or a fixed schedule (as a floater) and the opportunity to work with children across various age groups, including preschool through early elementary levels.

Responsibilities

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or develop appropriate activities aligned with curriculum standards
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management and classroom management techniques
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through engaging instructional strategies
  • Assist with curriculum development tailored to early childhood education, literacy, math, and special education needs
  • Foster an inclusive environment by working with children with diverse learning styles, including those with autism or other special needs
  • Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff regarding classroom activities and student progress
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and create a nurturing space conducive to learning and exploration

Qualifications

  • 2 years Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in teaching young children
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, tutoring, and working with individuals with autism or special education needs
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior and foster positive relationships with children
  • Background in Montessori or literacy education is a plus; familiarity with preschool programs is advantageous
  • Passion for working with children and commitment to creating a supportive learning environment
  • Work 10 hour days through the school year and summer
