Substitute - Library Worker

Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries is seeking applicants from the Goldendale area for on call substitute Public Services Assistant positions at the Goldendale Community Library. Candidates must be able to work at least three (3) shifts per month. Monday and Saturday availability is preferred.

• Assisting customers with questions about library services and technology
• Creating or updating customer accounts
• Shelving materials
• Checking materials in and out
• May go out on bookmobile runs

The ideal candidate will be flexible and have strong customer service skills and great attention to detail. This position frequently requires these physical abilities:

• Lift up to 35 pounds

• Push and pull book carts and book return bins on wheels
• Bend, kneel, and reach to shelve books

• Stand for extended periods of time

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Six months of working with the public in a customer service setting (such as working in a retail store)

• Skills Assessment - Candidates must be available in person at the Goldendale Community Library

• Interview - Candidates must be available in person at the Goldendale Community Library
