Substitute Teacher

We are looking for a qualified Daily Substitute Teacher to work consistantly at the Curtisville Primary School within in the Deer Lakes School District. This candidate would need to work in a consistant basis, 2-3 times per week.

Duties

• Deliver engaging lessons based on established curriculum plans or adapt to the teacher’s absence, ensuring continuity of instruction
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a safe and respectful learning environment
• Implement lesson plans, activities, and instructional materials tailored to students’ developmental needs
• Support students’ individual learning styles, including those with special needs such as autism or in early childhood education settings
• Maintain clear communication with school staff and students to promote a positive classroom atmosphere
• Assist with classroom management strategies to encourage student participation and engagement
• Complete necessary documentation and reports related to student attendance and behavior as required

Experience

• Prior classroom experience or background in early childhood education, literacy, or math instruction preferred
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience working with children of various age groups, including preschool or kindergarten levels
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and tutoring methods
• Experience working with individuals with autism or special education needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles
