Substitute Teachers Needed - In-School and Out-of-School STEM Program Teacher

Job Title: Substitute STEM Lead Teacher

Location: Baltimore County Public Schools (Elementary)

Schedule:

• In-school (9-11 AM, 10-12 PM, or 1-3 PM)
• After-school hours (3-4 PM or 4-5 PM)

Position Overview:
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Teachers to conduct classes for elementary-aged students. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about education and making a difference in students’ lives.

Responsibilities:

• Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure student safety during sessions.
• Set up and break down classroom materials and equipment before and after classes. (this adds an additional 30 minutes per day)
• Communicate effectively with school leadership, parents, students, and Whiz Kid Academy staff as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children in an educational setting (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Passion for STEM education and working with young learners.
• Availability to work consistently within the required schedule.
• Reliable transportation to and from program sites.

Preferred:

• Prior teaching or childcare experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (or working toward one) in Education, STEM fields, or a related area.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including standing, sitting, lifting up to 15 pounds (LEGO’s), and interacting with students and staff.

Work Environment:

It will be a classroom and school environment.

Transportation Requirement

You must have a personal car/vehicle for this role.

Technology Requirement

You must have your own laptop for this role.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
