Job Description Overview
Episcopal School of Nashville is seeking enthusiastic and caring Summer Camp Counselors for our weekday summer programming at our diverse, urban, and independent school located in East Nashville.
This position is ideal for responsible teens and young adults age 14+ seeking experience in childcare, education, or leadership, and certified teachers seeking summer employment. Counselors will lead activities in small groups, supervise campers, and maintain a safe, positive, and engaging camp environment.
All camp programming is pre-planned and provided by ESN.
Responsibilities

Supervise small groups of campers ranging from ages 4-10 throughout the camp day

Lead pre-planned games, crafts, science experiments, and activities in small groups

Assist with daily set-up and break-down of camp stations as needed

Support safe indoor and outdoor play, including recess

Assist with snacks, lunch, rest time, and transitions

Model respectful, responsible, and positive behavior aligned with ESN’s educational philosophy

Follow direction from supervising Director(s)

Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all campers and staff

Work Before and After Care program, as needed (8:30-9:00 AM and 3:00-4:00 PM, daily)
Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership in professional, academic, athletic, faith-based, or volunteer/community settings including but not limited to education, childcare, tutoring, sports coaching, volunteer work, and/or summer camp

Reliable, punctual, and responsible

Ability to confidently supervise and lead small groups of children

Strong communication and time management skills

Enjoy being active, creative, and outdoors
Requirements

Background check for applicants 18+

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain independently (must be certified prior to the start of camp; reimbursement available by ESN upon completion)
