Summer Camp Instructor (Seasonal)

Summer at Sacred Heart seeks enthusiastic camp instructors who will provide 15 hours of instruction on the specialized topic of your choice, prioritizing STEM, art, music, and physical activity camp themes. If you love gardening, jazz music, pottery throwing, ballroom dance or anything exciting that will capture the interest of elementary and/or middle school aged campers, then this opportunity is for you!

The summer season runs from June 8-August 14, 2025, with morning sessions running from 9:00-12:00 You are welcome to teach individual specialized camps for as little as one half day week or all weeks, it is your choice! Multiple camp offerings throughout the summer are both welcomed and encouraged. Compensation is competitive.

Duties:

  • Designing and leading an enriching and exciting camp experience
  • Explaining instructions with patience and kindness
  • Maintaining a fun, safe and engaging camp environment at all times
  • Keeping everyone safe while still having fun
  • Following all licensing procedures
  • Providing basic first aid as needed
  • Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or some college, preferably specializing in the subject of the camp you’re offering or equivalent experience in specialized camp subject
  • Previous experience working with kids (childcare, camp, babysitting, volunteer work, etc.) preferred
