Summer Camp Lead Counselor

Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Camp Counselors to join our team for an enriching summer camp experience. As a Lead Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes personal growth and teamwork among campers.

Duties

• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during various activities.
• Plan and lead engaging activities such as sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games.
• Provide support and mentorship to campers, encouraging their personal development.
• Foster a positive camp culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and inclusivity.
• Communicate effectively with campers to understand their needs and concerns.
• Provide support for fellow counselors to create a cohesive team environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp facilities and equipment.
• Attend required staff training June 19th.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience or skills in the following areas:

• Camp or childcare experience is highly desirable.
• Background in tutoring or babysitting is beneficial.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles.
• Experience in sports coaching or leading recreational activities.
• Familiarity with theater or performing arts can enhance the camp experience.
• Previous experience working with children in various settings is preferred.

Schedule

Summer camp runs June 22nd - August 14th. We are looking for staff available during that time frame with minimal scheduled vacations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
