A Summer Camp Staff Member ensures the safety, well-being, and engagement of children ages 5–12 by supervising activities, leading games, and mentoring youth. They create a positive, fun environment while managing daily schedules, maintaining safety protocols, and communicating with staff and parents. Key roles include facilitating activities, fostering social development, and ensuring child safety.
- Activity Leadership: Plan, lead, and participate in camp activities such as arts & crafts, field trips, water play, and sports.
- Mentorship & Care: Act as a positive role model, guiding children in social interaction, emotional growth, and conflict resolution.
- Record Keeping: Manage attendance, keep track of equipment, and ensure that camper areas are kept clean and organized.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with children (e.g., childcare, tutoring, coaching) is highly valued.
- Leadership & Patience: Ability to lead groups, manage challenging behavior, and provide consistent, patient care.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
