Summer - Data Analyst Intern

Job Title: Data Analyst, Intern (Paid)

About the Role:

Mathnasium is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Data & Analytics team for the summer. This is a hands-on role that will support our efforts to maintain clean, accurate data and deliver high-impact dashboards and reports to key stakeholders across the organization. The intern will primarily assist with dashboard development & enhancement, data cleaning, ad-hoc data requests, and documentation—playing a key role in supporting our reporting infrastructure. This is an ideal opportunity for someone curious about how analytics teams operate in a franchise business environment and eager to apply their technical and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting.

Responsibilities:

Dashboard & Reporting

  • Create or update non-complex Quicksuite views and visualizations
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and data requests using SQL and BI tools
  • Support QA testing and version control for updated dashboards

Data Quality & Validation

  • Execute predefined QC checks to catch duplicates, missing values, or formatting issues
  • Help compare raw vs. transformed datasets to ensure pipeline integrity
  • Flag anomalies or edge cases for senior review

Exploratory Analysis & Ad Hoc Work

  • Perform basic data profiling and exploratory analysis on core datasets
  • Support the team with simple analytical investigations and trend identification

Documentation & Admin Support

  • Maintain internal documentation for dashboards, processes, and metrics
  • Assist with BI access updates and process standardization
  • Help organize data definitions and business logic to support knowledge continuity

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Master's program in Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related STEM field. Will also consider rising seniors pursuing their Bachelor's in related STEM field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
  • Coursework in data analysis, statistics, or business intelligence preferred.
  • Prior experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, AWS Quicksight, Power BI, python) through academic projects or previous internships
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Effective communicator with a proactive mindset
  • Interest in education is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 / hour

Job Type: parttime

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
