Summer Preschool Assistant Teacher

Job Overview: To assist Calvary Preschool in day-to-day operations

Job Category: Full-time or part-time, hourly, preschool summer staff

This person would report to: Preschool Director- Ashley Holmgren

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified as an Assistant Teacher according to Department of Human Services of Minnesota
• Be CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid certified or willing to be obtained within 30 days of employment

Expectations

• Have the ability to share God’s story with children, and participate in Vacation Bible School
• Comply with Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 3 and other statutes
• Submit to and pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
• Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs in addition to their faith development and educational needs
• Maintain necessary confidentiality at all times
• Maintain training hours as required by the Minnesota Department of Human Services
• Be able to kneel, bend, squat, and sit on the floor to meet children’s needs

Responsibilities and Duties

• Communicate with families and staff in a professional manner
• Engage children in indoor and outdoor activities and play that stimulates their development
• Help maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
• Attend preschool staff meetings and staff development as scheduled by the director
• Maintain a professional self-image and project the mission and vision of Calvary Lutheran Preschool and Calvary Lutheran church at all times
• Have an enthusiastic, welcoming attitude and have fun with kids!
