Job Description

Summary

As a Superintendent, you will leverage your capacity for innovation and problem-solving to lead field operations to ensure an exceptional project is delivered to our clients. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work ensuring compliance with contract documents and the project schedule while also implementing a culture of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely and quality installation of contracted work of either a total project or a particular scope, trade contractor, or portion of a project
  • Implement a culture of safety and quality among employees and trade contractors and conduct regular safety inspections to ensure all work conditions are in compliance with company, contract, and government regulations
  • Create and manage a plan to successfully sequence work, manage jobsite logistics, and track materials and personnel
  • Ensure a high quality of work consistent with project and company standards
  • Takes initiative and personal responsibility to deliver a project on schedule and on budget
  • Develop, update, and communicate the project schedule and exhibit a command of critical schedule milestones with all project stakeholders
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members to build a high functioning team
  • Cultivate strong relationships with all project stakeholders
  • Maintain professionalism while representing the company and team in internal and external meetings and interactions
  • Possess working knowledge of the owner contract, subcontracts, and vendor agreements
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of staff charts, general conditions, project costs, and demonstrate an understanding of key performance indicators (KPI) for the project
  • Participate in close-out activities including punch list and building operations training
  • Demonstrate advanced problem-solving capabilities in finding ways to overcome constant obstacles, issues, and conflicts on the job
  • Implement site Quality Control Plans
  • Works hand in hand with the QC for inspection scheduling and work

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience
  • 7+ years of experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects, with 5 years of experience in construction in a medical project.
  • Experience building high-rise residential, mixed-use, or higher education projects successfully from start to finish.
  • 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnel
  • Demonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans effectively across multiple audiences
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety and building regulations (i.e., OSHA)

Quality Control Manager

Position Summary:

Wright Construction Group is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to oversee quality assurance and control processes on federal and government-funded construction projects. The QCM will ensure all work complies with contract specifications, applicable codes, and regulatory standards, including USACE and NAVFAC requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs) in accordance with government contract requirements.
  • Conduct three-phase inspections (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-up) for all definable features of work.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and government representatives to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and deficiency logs.
  • Lead and document weekly QC meetings with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, UFGS, and other applicable federal standards.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications for conformance.
  • Support project closeout by compiling as-built documentation and warranty information.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for quality-related issues with government contracting officers and inspectors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control, preferably on Corps of Engineer or federal.
  • Familiarity with USACE/NAVFAC quality control procedures.
  • Completion of USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QC software platforms.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build government contracts.
  • Knowledge of LEED and sustainable construction practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)Tucson, AZDescription

Position Summary:

Wright Construction Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee and enforce safety protocols on active Corp of Engineer construction sites. The SSHO will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including 385-1-1 and OSHA standards, and promote a culture of safety throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans (SSSPs).
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and practices.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including logs, permits, and inspection records.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1 (for federal projects), and Wright Construction Group’s safety policies.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure their safety programs align with site requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site.
  • Support project teams in hazard identification and risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably on federal or large-scale commercial projects.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required; OSHA 500 or 510 preferred.
  • EM 385-1-1 training and experience strongly preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with government contracts and safety compliance (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC).
  • Familiarity with safety management software and reporting tools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
