Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Superintendent with a strong background in ship repair and workshop operations. The ideal candidate will oversee structural repair and fabrication activities within the workshop, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with maritime standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
- Organize the workshop for efficient production flow of materials, sub structures, Tee beams, small panels etc. to feed block construction of the rig and create the project schedules with the Construction Manager.
- Manage the structural construction team to ensure there is a consistent focus on a high level of detailed scope understanding and early issue identification, tracking and mitigation.
- Contribute strongly to preparing the execution strategy, work pack for NBR awarded projects, and day-to-day running of the project is functioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
- Maintain a high-level control around the cost of all construction consumables and equipment utilized during the construction works and possess strong initiative around decision making and ability to conceptualize plans and technical solutions to deal with a wide array of standard and innovative construction issues.
- Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify the management team of schedule and performance issues, to be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager to design and prepare the required procedures and standard process related to rig building activities.
Qualifications Education
- Diploma in Engineering (Technical Qualification) or equivalent
- Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferred) or equivalent
Experience
- For diploma minimum 15 years of experience, for bachelor holders at least 9 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and / or rig building.
- Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
