Position Summary
We are seeking a strong, motivated Supervising Pharmacist (SP) to lead pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive growth while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. The PIC will be responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations, managing staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in prescription processing, and creating a positive and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise technicians, and support staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellent patient service.
Train and develop staff to improve efficiency, knowledge, and performance.
Address staff issues and ensure professional conduct at all times.
Pharmacy Operations
Oversee daily workflow and prescription processing to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
Maintain workflow systems to support prescription volume.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and medication management to prevent shortages and waste.
Implement processes to improve productivity and service quality.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations including controlled substance requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation required by pharmacy boards and regulatory agencies.
Prepare for and manage audits and inspections.
Ensure all licenses, policies, and procedures remain current.
Patient Care & Clinical Oversight
Provide counseling and clinical support to patients.
Review prescriptions for safety, interactions, and appropriateness.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Identify opportunities to grow prescription volume and pharmacy services.
Develop relationships with healthcare providers, facilities, and the local community.
Qualifications
PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.
Active pharmacist license in good standing.
Prior pharmacy leadership or management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal SP is a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the pharmacy, motivates staff, maintains compliance, and actively works to grow the business while delivering outstanding patient care.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
