Supervising Physician Psychiatrist - Remote TX

Savant Care is seeking an experienced Supervising Psychiatrist / Collaborating Physician licensed in Texas to provide ongoing clinical oversight and support to our team of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).

This is a fully remote, flexible role focused on NP supervision, chart review, and clinical consultation. No direct patient care is required unless you are interested in building your own telepsychiatry practice with Savant Care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Collaboration & Supervision
• Provide ongoing collaboration, consultation, and supervision to PMHNPs in accordance with Texas state laws and applicable regulations.
• Be available for as-needed case consults, clinical questions, and treatment planning support.
• Participate in co-treatment or referral decisions when clinically indicated.
• Chart Review & Regulatory Compliance
• Clinical Collaboration & Supervision
• Provide ongoing collaboration, consultation, and supervision to PMHNPs in accordance with Texas state laws and applicable regulations.
• Be available for as-needed case consults, clinical questions, and treatment planning support.
• Participate in co-treatment or referral decision
• Review and sign off on charts, treatment plans, and patient management plans as required by state and federal regulations and payer requirements.
• Help ensure documentation quality, risk management, and regulatory compliance across supervised providers.
• Assist in maintaining policies that align with Texas Medical Board requirements for physician supervision of NPs.
• Promote appropriate psychopharmacology and safe prescribing practices (including controlled substances where applicable).
• Provide feedback to PMHNPs to improve clinical judgment, prescribing patterns, and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• MD or DO in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted Texas Medical License (required).
• Active DEA registration (required); X-waiver/experience with controlled substances is a plus.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (Adult Psychiatry preferred; Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a plus).
• Prior experience supervising or collaborating with PMHNPs/APPs in outpatient or telepsychiatry settings is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working in a telehealth / telepsychiatry environment and using EHR/EMR systems.
• Strong commitment to ethical, patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and collaboration.

Preferred Skillset:

• Supervising Psychiatrist, Collaborating Physician for PMHNPs, NP Supervision, Telepsychiatry, Outpatient Psychiatry, Remote Psychiatrist
• Experience with Texas Nurse Practitioner collaboration requirements
• Prior work in virtual mental health clinics, group practices, or multi-provider settings
• Familiarity with evidence-based psychopharmacology, chronic mental health management, and co-morbid conditions
• Comfort with HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms and electronic prescribing

Pay: Up to $200.00 per hour
