What your job will be like:
The CST Data Scientist Supervisor will work on all elements of the data science workflow (data preprocessing, analyzing data using exploratory mathematic and statistical techniques, as well as developing and optimization models). You will recommend various technology options or approaches for system and processes improvements in terms of performance, efficiency, cost or safety.
In this role you will:
Participate in the research and development of machine learning and data analysis Participate in and potentially lead technical presentations
Conduct technical data science research for climate and health disparity
Conduct technical data science research on nuclear physics experimental control, MLOps, and other areas of interest to the project
Apply and develop methods to include uncertainty quantification for scientific research projects
Publish research results in highly visible, peer-reviewed venues (conferences & journals)
Develop and maintain high quality software for data science projects (machine learning & uncertainty quantify)
Interact with funding clients, internal and external researchers and domain scientists
Qualifications we require
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
Experience:
5 or more years relevant experience
Experience with contributing and leading tasks on major projects with multi-disciplinary teams
AI driven nuclear physics data analysis
Anomaly detection in medical ultrasound data
Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with publicly available technical libraries for data analytics (e.g. scikit-learn), deep learning (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow) and optimization tools
Ability to work with large datasets and mine relevant information for use in AI/ML applications
Ability to develop approaches and solutions to complex problems in the forms of proposals, software, documents or other work products
Ability to clearly communicate and report the progress on tasks and projects
Generative AI for inverse problem solving
