Supervisor: Housekeeping

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet company cleanliness standards and brand expectations. This position plays a key leadership role by inspecting rooms, coaching team members, assisting with daily operations, and helping train and support new housekeeping staff to ensure consistent quality and performance.

WHY OUR HOTEL

We are looking for a motivated and dependable Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at the Margaritaville Island Hotel in Pigeon Forge, TN. We offer the perfect blend of Mountain Latitude and Island Attitude. Our hotel has 134 rooms and suites, and features a spa, rooftop pool with bar and a restaurant that consist of inside and outside seating.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervising staff during shifts
  • Assigning daily boards and distribute room assignments
  • Ensuring rooms and other areas are clean and meet brand standards
  • Training new HK staff
  • Verify cleanliness, proper room setup and functionality of all amenities
  • Ensure HK team understands importance of timely sanitation of rooms, lobby area and hotel restroom
  • Ensure high / low pars are properly maintained
  • Managing cleaning supplies and equipment, coordinating repairs, placements and supply orders as needed
  • Monitor linen, terry and supply levels
  • Ensure closets and carts are stocked and organized
  • Second in command to the HK Manager
  • Lead by example
  • Help control costs by monitoring usage and preventing waste

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to positive guests’ experience
  • Assist in cleaning rooms when occupancy levels are high
  • Communicate with Front Desk regarding room status updates
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Support scheduling and labor control based on occupancy
  • Complying with safety and health regulations
  • Any additional duties assigned by HK Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous housekeeping experience required – minimum 1yr
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • The ability to lead, support and motivate team
  • Be comfortable in coaching team in a professional, respectful manner when improvements are needed in a timely manner
  • Excellent quality control w/attention to details
  • Strong time management and delegation skills
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and infection control
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift and pull (up to 50lbs)

Job Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18 - $20 hourly
