JOB
The Cemetery Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, landscaping, and interment operations of municipal cemetery grounds to ensure the property remains safe, orderly, respectful, and well maintained. This position supervises grounds maintenance staff and coordinates burial preparation activities,monument installations, and contractor work. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Associates degree in related field.Three (3) years’ experience in cemetery ground operations, administration, and/or maintenance; Four (4) years must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.Must have a valid Florida Class B commercial driver's license with and maintain a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.Note: Three (3) years or more of experience in cemetery ground operations, administration, or maintenance may substitute for up to two (2) years of the Associate Degree requirement. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform eachof the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
