Job Description

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dry port, ensuring efficient and safe handling of container/cargo, and maintaining high standards of service. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dry Port, including container handling, storage, and allied transportation.
• Ensure efficient and timely movement of containers, optimizing Dry Port throughput and minimizing delays.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns to the Operations Manager promptly.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Efficiency is formulating workflows, developing SOPs, system (TOS) testing and working.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of all activities, including container In and Out movements.
• Prepare reports as per directives of Management, highlighting key performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant documentation and reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines, and other stakeholders.
• Address and resolve any operational issues or customer complaints promptly and effectively.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery and effective communication.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/with specialization in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of port operations, safety regulations, and logistics processes.
• Proficiency in Terminal management software and other relevant IT systems.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely and to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Port terminal, Dry Port or CFS operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
