SUPERVISOR, PLANT

alfanar Building Systems manufactures and markets a variety of building construction products and systems.

Core Manufacturing Activities
  • Ceramic wall and floor tiles
  • Precast concrete products and architectural elements

Ensure the smooth running of processes on a production floor. Oversee routine production activities, troubleshoot and solve issues that arise on a production floor, and ensure a safe and clean production workspace.

Key Accountability Areas
  • Excellent organizational skills to plan production schedules and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to actively listen to stakeholders and clearly verbalize ideas and action plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to determine problems within the production process and take appropriate action.
  • Good time management skills to minimize downtime and ensure a team works efficiently.
  • The ability to cope with pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Informing a production team of preferred occupational health and safety practices.
Coordination with Production Team
  • Closely coordinate with the Production Team and ensure that production flows according to schedules.
  • Together with Production Team, determine bottlenecks and find solutions to address issues.
  • Ensure to check production output according to specifications.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
Achievement Report Analyses
  • Prepare Shift productivity and quality achievement report with breakdown in comparison with the pre determined budget.
  • Analyze actual productivity against the target. Investigate reasons/justifications for considerable variances.
  • Control and update Work Centers according to capacity utilization to utilize maximum manpower capacity.
  • Ensure that all reports are properly and accurately prepared and reports that must be published are circulated in a timely manner to the Production Manager.
  • Ensure implementation of management systems adhere to quality, safety, and environmental policies.
Quality Management
  • Ensure Quality Management System processes are well established, implemented, maintained and documented.
  • Report to Manager on the QMS performance and where improvements are needed.
Role Accountability
  • Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management.
  • Ability to recognize low performers and guide them to improve or release them.
  • Ability to treat subordinates equally without any discrimination.
  • Assessment criteria of subordinates is performance that leads to planned results.
  • Ensure availability of delegation of authority matrix to have sufficient delegations as per company policy.

  • Must take full responsibility for the operation as per the job description and the required deliverables from this position, taking into consideration the general company guidelines.

  • Provide periodic work progress reports.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
Organizational Development
  • Develop the organizational structure according to current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
  • Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.
Business Process Improvements
  • Develop, coordinate well defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.
  • Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to the job and business.
  • Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.
