We’re looking for an experienced Respiratory Care Supervisor to lead our Night Shift Respiratory Care team at our Raleigh Campus, a Level I Trauma Center that never sleeps and never settles.

About the Role
The Respiratory Care Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of staff and the day‑to‑day clinical and operational management of Respiratory Care Services during the night shift. As a key member of the management team, this leader collaborates closely with the Director, Medical Director, physician leaders, nursing, and multidisciplinary partners to ensure safe, evidence‑based, and high‑quality patient care.
This role blends clinical expertise, people leadership, and operational oversight, ensuring compliance with WakeMed standards, regulatory agencies, and professional practice guidelines while fostering a supportive and accountable work culture.
What you will do:
Leadership & HR Management (30%)

Supervise, coach, and develop Respiratory Care team members through ongoing feedback, performance management, and career development

Foster engagement, accountability, and a high‑performance culture aligned with WakeWay Everytime behaviors

Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies

Participate in internal and external candidate selection processes
Clinical Oversight & Patient Care (20%)

Maintain professional competence and provide direct clinical care as needed

Ensure delivery of safe, evidence‑based respiratory care across all patient populations

Serve as a clinical role model and escalation resource during night shift operations
Administrative & Operational Oversight (30%)

Oversee administrative workflows and daily respiratory care operations
-
Coordinate staffing, daily assignments, and patient coverage
-
Ensure accurate scheduling, timekeeping review, and staffing adjustments

Perform all operational duties required to support the respiratory team
Coordination & Planning (15%)

Coordinate daily work activities and ensure timely posting of schedules

Participate in short‑ and long‑term departmental planning

Promote efficient workflows and operational readiness during overnight hours
Quality, Education & Evidence‑Based Practice (5%)

Promote evidence‑based practice through education, protocols, and standard work

Participate in quality assessment, process improvement, and practice evaluation

Ensure compliance with WakeMed policies, standing orders, and regulatory standards
