To maintain the daily operations of the transport team to ensure a smooth departmental operation.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Director of Transport Services

DAILY OPERATING PROCEDURE

• 
  Orders sufficient supplies to meet daily needs/
• Request repairs for equipment to appropriate person.
• Prepares daily assignment sheet
• Schedules appropriate leave time for employees and ensures that adequate staffing is available to cover schedules.
• Maintains payroll hours for staff and enters them into system.
• Uses personal protection equipment when directed or as appropriate.
• Ensures all safety rules are followed.
• Enforces all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Oversees the day to day operations of the transport team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  Counsels employees when appropriate and provides supporting documentation.
• Completes bi-weekly schedules.
• Mentors team members
• Orients and trains new team members
• Involvement of one committee outside of transport services.
• Designated Safety Officer for the department.
• Conducts performance appraisals with employees and provides appropriate documentation.
• Maintains a professional image of self and transport department.
• Interviews applicants for available positions.
• Ensures employees complete yearly hospital competencies (ie. CPR, fire & safety, age specific and infection control).

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Collages classes or Associates degree is preferred. Five (5) years of previous customer service in related field is required. Previous supervisory experience in a hospital services transport environment preferred. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is required. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
