About the Role
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the development and monitoring of supplier quality systems and on-time delivery performance. You’ll work closely with suppliers, procurement, purchasing, and design engineering to improve product reliability, reduce warranty expenses, and strengthen vendor recovery processes.
This is a key role that will directly impact production performance and cost savings, with an expected improvement target of $500k savings in the first year.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage supplier performance measures (delivery, quality, responsiveness).
- Apply established processes such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, DOE, SPC, CPK.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and internal teams during new component and supplier development.
- Conduct process audits at supplier sites based on performance, inspection results, and part criticality.
- Identify and resolve supplier quality issues using standard quality improvement tools.
- Provide regular status reports on supplier performance and improvement plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field + 5 years’ QA experience, OR
- Associate’s degree in a technical field + 10 years’ QA experience.
- Proven experience with supplier qualification and rating processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques, quality improvement tools, and cost factors.
- Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and evaluation of fabricated/machined metal components.
- Experience in SPC, performance indicators, and process capability.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic & international).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
