Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments (initial, periodic, and special audits) based on ISO 9001, AS9100, and MIL-STD compliance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product conformity to drawings, material specifications, and special process requirements.
- Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI), Process Qualification documents, and PPAP submissions for defence programs.
- Monitor and analyze supplier quality performance metrics (PPM, NCRs, On-Time Delivery, etc.).
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for supplier non-conformances.
- Develop and implement Supplier Quality Improvement Plans (SQIP) for underperforming or critical suppliers.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Procurement, Incoming QC) to ensure supplier deliverables align with project milestones.
- Ensure strict traceability, documentation, and compliance with defence project requirements and quality standards.
- Validate special processes such as welding, painting, plating, and heat treatment at supplier locations when applicable.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities for supplier-related issues.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier quality records, audit reports, and qualification documents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Aerospace / Metallurgy / Industrial Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Vendor Development in Defence, Aerospace, or Precision Manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, casting, sheet metal, electronics, or composite materials (as per plant focus).
- Working knowledge of defence manufacturing standards like MIL-STD, DGAQA, CEMILAC, and international standards like AS9100, ISO 9001.
- Exposure to NADCAP processes and special process audits (preferred).
- Experience in tools such as 8D, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and FAI (AS9102).

- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for supplier coordination.
- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and compliance management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sourcing, design, QA, and logistics teams.
- Comfortable with frequent travel to supplier sites and manufacturing locations
