Position Description:

The Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the Kearfott organization relative to the improvement of vendor-supplied material and components through Quality interface, technical expertise and support to Suppliers.

Essential Functions

  • Understands and implements key aspects of Supplier Quality fundamentals to achieve best-in-class Quality, delivery and service.
  • Ensure supplied products meet all specifications, requirements and expectations.
  • Investigate, assign and support Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts.
  • Track Supplier Corrective Action responses and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Support in-house Corrective Action Reviews with Supplier-provided input.
  • Liaison between Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, Production and Contracts.
  • Lead and communicate Quality initiatives within the organization.
  • Use Continuous Improvement tools to support process enhancements and achieve company goals.
  • Enhance and improve departmental procedures and standard work.
  • Interact and provide technical oversight to hourly Receiving and In-Process Inspectors.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage and complete multiple projects with varied objectives.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, Engineering degree required, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Required minimum 2 years practical experience with Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a manufacturing environment; experience in Supplier Quality Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Required experience working directly with vendors or distributors to resolve Quality issues.
  • Required experience using Quality Tools such as FAI, PFMEA, Control Plans, FMEA, Gage R&R, Process Capability, Process Flow, SPC, GD&T, Poke Yoke, RCCA, etc.; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9102 requirements.
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance.
