Provide support to Program Management in new program APQP activities including supplier selections. Reviews product designs and applications to establish criteria for supplier quality levels and controls and to ensure customer quality objectives are incorporated into design and maintained for the duration of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Works in conjunction with sourcing teams and Mubea's Global Supplier Development Management to agree the key Strategic Suppliers and methodology. Supports buyer to maintain material group strategy. • Establishes, executes and maintains a schedule of Strategic Supplier Development activities with outline project plans in order to realize defined Quality, Cost and Delivery targets. Manage plausibility of purchase information. • Performs Strategic Supplier Development activities with suppliers, documents and manages related output/input. • Follows up new project launches with key-suppliers, reports status to project management and supports the communication channel with suppliers in all APQP issues. Manage APQP activities to meet Mubea / customer timing. • Verification corrective actions in launch and production phase. Define corrective actions after failed PPAP. • Monitors quality and delivery status of key-suppliers within the specified region while in the APQP process. • Controls Mubea internal process in all cases of critical supplier quality - or delivery issues. • Supports escalation cases serial condition. • Develops target supplier’s quality, processes, tooling, technical, logistical, measurement and gauges equipment to assure compliance to standards and specifications. • Performs supplier on-site assessments and assistance visits to improve supplier performance and achieve the corporation's objectives in the areas of Quality, Delivery, Cost and Responsiveness. The activities include Potential Supplier survey, Design reviews, control Plan Audits, Product Audits and Problem Solving activities. • Assists regional Mubea manufacturing sites QM/EM Management in advanced problem solving and supplier communication. • Reviews component design with suppliers to verify cost, feasibility, capability, run at rate, customer specific requirements and overall conformance to specified tolerances and specifications. • Provides regular formal communication across the business on Development activities and support the Global Supplier selection process at sourcing tables for the specified region. • Supervises new project launches and all key-suppliers APQP/PPAP activities. According to AIAG / IATF 16949 standards and Customer specific requirements. • Perform process audits serial condition / perform process audits launch phase / track SDP out of process audits. • Regular project meetings with project team. • Capacity analysis. • Change Management (ECR / Process Changes). • Prepare GST checklist (section SD). • Maintain alignment with Global Supplier Development using PD2 and related documents. • Travel up to 50%. • Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering from four-year University with minimum of 5 years demonstrable manufacturing, purchasing or quality experience within automotive industry or equivalent education. • Quality function experience, knowledge in root cause analysis, corrective actions, AIAG, VDA quality standards, Gauge R&R, capability studies, Six-Sigma, Lean Management principals, Control Plans, PFMEAs, IATF 16949, etc. • Good level of report writing and adept with most IT packages. • Be a leader, team player, coach and motivator and have a positive and “can do” attitude. • Microsoft office software • Competent in problem solving (8-D and 5 Why tools), team building and decision making Preferred Education and Experience: • A master’s degree in related field • SAP experience • Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven businesses • Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization
