POSITION OVERVIEW
The Supplier Quality Engineer II will function as a subject matter expert with respect to quality-related matters to ensure that purchased components meet Gentex’s expectations, serving as the primary relationship contact with respect to quality for assigned suppliers.
This position is located in Zeeland, MI, at the Gentex facility.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Coordinate and set priorities for problem solving and continuous improvement activities, including swarm support for Gentex operation quality issues.

Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure purchased components align with Gentex’s expectations.

Ensure containment and analysis of non-conforming material.
-
Support Engineering Design for Manufacturability efforts, in-house process development, and cost improvements pertaining to supplied components.

Ensure lessons-learned drive prevention of defect/failure recurrence through the problem-solving process.

Communicate Gentex’s requirements, expectations, and performance scorecards to suppliers.

Evaluate and process applicable documents, confirm capability, and establish quality control to ensure a supplier's readiness.

Proactively communicate with key suppliers to develop positive working relationships and optimize performance, which may include in-person visits to supplier locations.

Review and approve supplier qualification submissions per industry standards and requirements.

WHAT TO BRING

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or quality environment.

Proficiency with Repeated Why, Ishikawa Diagrams, Fault Tree Analyses, Is/Is-Not, and other industry standard problem-solving tools.

An understanding of core AIAG tools.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
