Sr. Quality Assurance Manager

As the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, you drive the implementation of testing strategies, manage a team of QA professionals, and collaborate with development and operations teams to build a culture of quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Your work ensures our products meet the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and execution of comprehensive quality assurance strategies and test plans.
  • Manages and mentors a team of Quality Assurance Engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Oversees all aspects of testing, including functional, integration, system, user acceptance, performance, load, security, and compliance testing.
  • Champions the integration of QA practices into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Drives the adoption of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Leads quality engineering and quality control initiatives to improve product quality.
  • Defines and tracks key quality metrics, analyzes results, and provides regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement preventative measures.
  • Ensures compliance and mission assurance through rigorous testing and documentation.
  • Provides team and stakeholder leadership to align quality assurance efforts with business objectives.
  • Makes critical decisions regarding testing scope, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Handles hiring, training, and work direction for the QA team.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering for federal IT programs
    • 5+ years leading QA teams in Agile environments
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, or SAFe)
  • Proven experience with functional, integration, system, user acceptance, performance, load, security, and compliance testing.
  • Experience implementing and managing QA automation frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile/DevSecOps methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CQA).

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is: $97,000 - $125,000 USD
