The SCM Executive in a jobwork unit is responsible for coordinating and controlling all supply chain operations — including procurement, production planning, jobwork scheduling, inventory management, logistics, and dispatch — to ensure timely delivery of customer orders while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Material Planning & Procurement
- Plan raw material requirements based on customer orders and production schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers for timely receipt and issue of materials for jobwork.
- Ensure accurate documentation of material inward and outward movements.
- Monitor vendor performance in terms of delivery timelines and quality.
2. Jobwork Coordination
- Manage end-to-end jobwork operations including receipt of raw material, processing, and dispatch of finished goods.
- Liaise with production, quality, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and update clients on job status.
- Ensure compliance with client-specific packaging, labeling, and documentation standards.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain accurate stock records of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular stock reconciliations and cycle counts.
- Optimize storage layout and inventory levels to reduce carrying costs and space utilization.
4. Logistics & Dispatch
- Plan dispatch schedules in coordination with customers and transporters.
- Prepare and verify all dispatch documentation (e.g., challans, invoices, e-way bills).
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.
- Handle returns or rework material efficiently.
5. Coordination & Reporting
- Act as a point of contact between production, quality, finance, and customer teams.
- Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on material status, WIP, dispatches, and inventory.
- Identify process bottlenecks and suggest improvements for operational efficiency.
