Job Summary:
The Plant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain operations within the food manufacturing plant. This includes overseeing and managing procurement, production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and analytical leader who can ensure a seamless flow of materials and products, optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Management:
-
Develop and implement the plant's supply chain strategy, aligning it with overall company objectives and Delivery targets.

Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and quality assurance teams to arrange the local sourced/managed RM & PM

Analyse supply chain data, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Procurement & Sourcing:
-
Manage the procurement of required raw materials, packaging, and other supplies required for production as per defined policies and procedures against the production plan.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliable supply.

Monitor supplier performance and identify new suppliers to mitigate risks and ensure a diversified, resilient supply chain.

Production & Inventory Management:
-
Take part in production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand while optimizing factory capacity and minimizing downtime.

Implement and manage inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize spoilage.

Regularly analyse finished goods and raw material inventory, making recommendations to align with demand forecasts.

Warehousing & Logistics:

Direct all inbound and outbound logistics, including the movement of raw materials, finished products, and packaging.

Manage warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant storage of all materials and creating JIT and DOL systems for smoother and future readiness.

Hands On experience in managing and dealing with plant supply chain position and clear understanding on concept of LEAN, TPM, 5’S”, JIT, DOL etc.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance:

Ensure all supply chain processes and activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000), quality standards, and company policies.

Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve any quality-related issues with raw materials or finished products.

Implement and enforce safety protocols within supply chain function to ensure a safe working environment.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, including Stores, Logistics Partners, Procurement Coordinators and warehouse staff.

Set performance targets, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Compliance and Reporting:
-
Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance and KPIs.

Good Understanding of SAP Functionality (Suggested to have hands on experience) and full material flow for a manufacturing Unit.

Clear vision on adherence to OTIF, FIFO, FEFO and Statutory & Regulatory Frameworks

Stakeholder Management:

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and other departments.

Maintain strong relationships to support seamless operations.
